Swedish artist whose exhibitions have mainly taken place in China, Taiwan and Japan. His work explores a dreamlike world drawing on childhood memory, cartoons and video games, using bold color to evoke a simpler, safer world.

Emil Öhlund is a Swedish artist whose work moves in a mysterious dream world where childhood memories and elements from cartoons and video games intertwine. Despite living and working in Sweden, his exhibitions have mainly taken place in China, Taiwan and Japan. The strong, radiant colours in his work are there to provoke a reaction and lure the viewer back to the magic days of childhood. In his own words: ”I want to awaken feelings for the beholder, and throw them into that secure and simpler world, one that is utterly important for me.”
