Julia Rio [GBG] is one of Sweden's most productive street artists. She completed her first yarn-bombing project in London in 2013 and hasn't stopped since. Active both in Sweden and abroad — in countries such as Italy, the USA, and Peru — she is a well-known name within the community as well as among the many people who happen to live near her public art.
She works not only with yarn as her medium but also focuses on painting in a style that is heavy on shapes and graphics, filled with energetic and vibrant colors. Julia takes pride in contributing to society by providing a sense of safety, human presence, and joyful colors. Her art often aims to communicate a dreamlike and playful world, aspiring to inspire people and bring them joy and comfort.
