Between the Lines - Concept Exhibition

On the 10th of November, we are excited to inaugurate our mural concept exhibition called Between the lines. This exhibition is not going to be held at the gallery but rather on the facade of Uppsala Returpappercentral, meant to be viewed from the train’s Uppsala en route to Stockholm, 1 minute after departure, to the left in the train's direction of travel.

If you want to get a still view of the mural you can take yourself to Vimpelgatan, where you will get a good view with the train tracks between yourself and the mural.

The exhibition Between the lines is made to show the impact of mural art, how it can bring joy to the ordinary day to day, how large scale paintings can make a train ride have a little bit more purpose than just being dead time for a commuter. What if more buildings in our cities could make us look outside the window for a glimpse of color and joy.

To showcase this, three of Sweden's most prominent mural artists; John Beijer, Emanuel Dekis and KAOS will together create a 23 meter long mural filled with each artist's own iconic style merging in something Uppsala hasn’t seen before.

Definition of a mural: A mural is any piece of graphic artwork that is painted or applied directly to a wall, ceiling or other permanent substrate. Mural techniques include fresco, mosaic, graffiti and marouflage.

The Between the lines exhibition will take place between 10.11 - 10.12.23

Welcome!
